ABOUT THE DESIGNER…

Designing things with colors (especially bright and bold) and words has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember – from the middle school yearbook to college publications and truly everything in between.

521 Designs was officially launched in June of 2011, but truly began about 9 months prior. I was newly engaged and my top two “high value” items on the wedding checklist were the invitations and photographer. I flipped through notebook after notebook, scoured the Internet, flipped through wedding magazines, and was simply unsatisfied. There was a lack of designs that were classic, but had a little bit of a twist – traditional, without being stuffy. It was a classic “Goldilocks and the Three Bears” scenario. So, this girl opened up InDesign and created a letterpress wedding suite from scratch (well, the letterpress was done by sweet Cory with Four Hats Press). The rest as they say is history! 

Emily and her husband, Nathan live in Birmingham, Alabama with their three children –– Joshua, Caleb, and Molly.

BEHIND THE NAME…

Three simple numbers with two beautiful meanings. Three numbers of the scripture reference that shows the Lord’s amazing grace for us and our salvation. 2 Corinthians 5:21 says, “For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” Three numbers of our wedding date. On May 21, 2011 my husband, Nathan, and I were joined in the amazing covenant of marriage.
